thats the reason why I have a question mark in the title because this is a pure speculation based and few discussions on webmaster forum.

I think he asked for opinions what those webmasters want the PageRank in the toolbar to be relaced with. They are not doing anything with the PageRank, just the toolbar.

I think people can still access PR data via API regardless of their decision.

Perhaps you need to rephrase your title because it’s about the toolbar not PageRank. I think as long as Google allows access the PR data via API people will find a way to create their own application to see the page rank.

but if we unable to see it on the toolbar, we won’t know what is the pagerank for any particular site and I think its no different than removing it. Furthermore we still do not know what is the significant of pagerank to search engine results

I think the real issue here is not that Google is removing PageRank totally but they are thinking of removing it from the Google Toolbar.

Yes Google will continue to use PageRank, just that it’s not displayed in the Google Toolbar
